How to add more RAM (the Performance Boost)
Every Qubesquad plan comes with 6 GB RAM, 3 CPU cores and 25 GB SSD for $9.99/month — plenty for most servers. When you’re running a heavy modpack or a big community, the Performance Boost gives your server more room, in one click.
What the Boost adds
Section titled “What the Boost adds”| Resource | Base plan | With Boost |
|---|---|---|
| RAM | 6 GB | 10 GB (+4 GB) |
| CPU | 3 cores | 6 cores |
| SSD disk | 25 GB | 75 GB (+50 GB) |
| Backups | 2 | 4 |
The Boost is a small monthly add-on (+$4.99/month) on top of your plan.
Add it to a running server
Section titled “Add it to a running server”- Open your server at panel.qubesquad.com and go to the Settings tab.
- Find Performance Boost and click Add performance boost.
- Restart the server when convenient — the extra power applies on the next restart.
That’s it. You’ll see the higher limits reflected in your live Memory and Disk meters once it restarts.
Remove it just as easily
Section titled “Remove it just as easily”Changed your mind? In the same Performance Boost panel, click Remove boost. It also takes effect on the next restart, and your bill drops back to the base price.
Add it when you buy
Section titled “Add it when you buy”You don’t have to wait — you can tick the Performance Boost on the deploy screen when you first order a server, so it’s ready from day one.
When should I add it?
Section titled “When should I add it?”Reach for the Boost when:
- Your Memory or CPU meter is regularly amber or red.
- You’re running a big “kitchen-sink” modpack (hundreds of mods).
- Your community is growing and the server feels busier than it used to.
