How to install a modpack
Modpacks are curated bundles of Minecraft mods — All the Mods 9, RLCraft, Vault Hunters, SkyFactory, Pixelmon and hundreds more. Qubesquad installs the whole pack for you, so you never touch a config file. Modpacks are a Minecraft feature.
There are two ways to get a modded server: choose the pack when you buy, or switch an existing server over to one.
Option A — pick a modpack when you deploy
Section titled “Option A — pick a modpack when you deploy”- On the deploy screen, choose Minecraft as your game.
- Under Setup, choose A modpack.
- Search the list and pick your pack, then choose a version (the latest is usually best).
- Finish checkout. We build the server with the pack already installed.
Option B — add a modpack to a server you already have
Section titled “Option B — add a modpack to a server you already have”This replaces your current server with a fresh modded one, so save anything you want to keep first (see the warning below).
- Open your server at panel.qubesquad.com and go to Settings.
- Click Reinstall / Swap Game.
- Keep Minecraft selected, then choose A modpack under Setup.
- Pick your pack and a version.
- Choose your location and name, click Continue, type the server name to confirm, and Destroy & rebuild.
Big packs are large downloads — installing can take 5–15 minutes. You can watch it happen live in the Console tab; the page updates itself the moment it’s ready.
Joining a modded server
Section titled “Joining a modded server”Everyone who plays needs the same modpack installed in their launcher (CurseForge, Modrinth, Prism, ATLauncher…). Install the pack there, launch it, then add your server in the multiplayer menu as usual.
Modpacks and RAM
Section titled “Modpacks and RAM”Heavy “kitchen-sink” packs (hundreds of mods) work best with extra memory. If your modded server feels sluggish, add the Performance Boost for +4 GB RAM — it’s built for exactly this.
Want a pack that isn’t listed?
Section titled “Want a pack that isn’t listed?”The catalogue covers the most popular packs from CurseForge and Modrinth. If yours isn’t there, click Get help on your server and we’ll point you to the best route.
