How to back up your server

A backup is a snapshot of your server’s files — your world, configs and everything else — that you can roll back to later. Take one before any big change (installing a modpack, switching games, wiping) so you always have a safe point to return to. It’s all in the Backups tab.

  1. Open your server at panel.qubesquad.com and click the Backups tab.
  2. Click Create backup.
  3. Optionally give it a name (something like before-modpack helps you find it later), then confirm.

The backup runs in the background — it shows IN PROGRESS and appears in the list, with its size and date, once it’s finished. Big worlds take a little longer.

Your plan includes 2 backup slots. Adding the Performance Boost raises that to 4. The tab shows how many you’ve used (for example 2 / 2 BACKUPS); when you’re at the limit the Create backup button reads At plan limit — delete or download an old one to make room.

Each backup in the list has a row of actions:

ActionWhat it does
↓ DownloadSaves the backup to your computer — do this before anything that wipes the server (see below).
⟲ RestoreRolls the server back to this snapshot. This overwrites the server’s current files, so the server must be stopped first.
🔒 Lock / 🔓 UnlockA locked backup can’t be deleted by accident. Lock the ones you want to keep.
✕ DeleteRemoves the backup for good. You’ll need to unlock it first, and it can’t be undone.
  1. Stop the server from the power buttons at the top.
  2. In the Backups tab, click ⟲ Restore on the snapshot you want and confirm.
  3. Once it finishes, Start the server again.

Restoring replaces everything on the server with the snapshot — anything created since that backup is lost, so restore deliberately.

Backups stored on your server are perfect for quick rollbacks, but they’re deleted along with everything else when you reinstall, switch games or wipe. Before any of those, click ↓ Download to save a copy to your own computer — that one survives no matter what happens to the server. You can also grab the raw world folder over SFTP.
